Henry Lewis Bishop was born on September 13,1959 in Charlottesville VA to the late Earl and Jeanette Bishop

Henry was educated in Louisa County Public Schools. After high school, Henry began his career in the US Army and became a diesel mechanic. During his military career, he honorably served in various locations including being stationed in Germany, Korea, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq and Hawaii. After 20 years of service he retired as a decorated E7 (SFC) Sergeant 1st Class.

After retiring from the US Army, Henry continued his career as a diesel mechanic with various companies, most recently with Penske Leasing and Trucking for 16 years.

Henry married his high school sweetheart Jennifer Jackson of Louisa County. Their blessed union of 39 years produced 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Henry was a devoted member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. He held several positions including Men’s Choir President, a member of The New Generation Choir, The Robertson Memorial Choir, The Mass Choir, Trustee and a member of the Brotherhood Club. In addition he often served as the church bus driver for many church events. He was also a dedicated Mason of Louisa Lodge 113.

When Henry wasn’t working or serving the Lord, he enjoyed cooking, watching football, maintaining his cars and above all spending time with his family.

Henry entered through Heavens Gates on Friday January 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Jeanette Bishop, his brother Roger Bishop, his mother in law Mille Jackson, his grandparents Roy and Pauline Bishop; and Edward and Cora Christmas.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Jennifer Bishop, his daughters Tiffany Parashar (Fayeahad), Brittany Gidarisingh (Victor): his grandchildren Camden Parashar, Sydney Parashar: his sisters Brenda Bishop and Lorraine Warner (Carson): sister in law Molly Bishop; father in law Berkeley Jackson; devoted nephew Dwayne Waller (Charmen) and a host of aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
