William Connell Turner, affectionately known as “Bootnie” to some and “Easy B” to others was born in Richmond, VA on April 23, 1967. He was the oldest son born to the late Rufus William Turner and Annie Crawford Turner. Bootnie lived a life full of joy and fought a courageous battle with cancer, never giving up hope all the way up until the end. He entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, March 11, 2024, peacefully in his home.

Bootnie accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age, joining St. Mark Baptist Church. He graduated from Goochland High School in 1985. Bootnie worked over the course of his life as a truck driver, landscaper, waste sanitation worker for Pryor Refuse Services and asphalt laborer for Branscome Paving Company. The name “Easy B’ paints a perfect picture of Bootnie as he was easy going, fun loving, kind and simply easy to get along with. Bootnie loved football and enjoyed watching his team the Washington Commanders play while he talked trash, he enjoyed listening to his classic R&B music, watching movies, dancing, and trying to sing, but mostly spending time with his family and friends. Bootnie was a kind-hearted soul and would do anything he could for anyone who asked. He will be remembered for his playful nature, the jokes, laughter, and joy he brought to all that knew and loved him. His presence here on earth will be greatly missed but his memory will live on in our hearts forever.

William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cindy Norris Turner; Father Rufus William Turner; maternal grandparents, Claude Lee and Annie Victoria Turner, and paternal grandparents Rufus and Erma Turner. Bootnie leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Annie Crawford Turner, loving son, Mareko Mayo (Nikita), grandchildren, Sean, Jayden and Layla Mayo, stepsons, Dedrick, Kendrick, Derek and Jerric Norris; one brother David Turner (Angela), sisters, Karen, Chris and Janice Turner, and J’Lea Fleming; aunts, Helena Robertson (Howard), Carolyn Turner, Doris Simmons, Florine Carter (Roy), Connie Beckford (Clarence), Mary Bradley (Robert), uncles, George(Skeebo) and Elwood Turner; niece Cortnie McMahand, nephews, Keeron and Jontavian Turner, Terrell Allen, and Jamal Bullock, nephews and niece in love, Michael Jr. (Noonie), Me’Quell, Qadir, Allen and Daijuan (DJ), Forrest, and Daija. Bootnie also leaves to mourn one great nephew, two great nieces, and a host of cousins and friends, devoted Christine Turner, Howard Robertson, and George Carter.
