Stanley Bernard Brooks was born January 23, 1968 to Josephine Brooks and the late Walter McKinney Brooks. He departed this life on Saturday morning, September 26, 2020.

Stanley joined Philippi Christian Church at an early age and attended Louis County Public Schools.
Stanley worked for Louis Pace as a lawn care worker for many years until his health began to fail. Stanley was a Dallas Cowboy fan and was known as one of the best horseshoe throwers around. He enjoyed being around family and attending family functions. Stanley favored name for everyone was “DUMMY”. He always treated everyone like family and was always willing to help in anyone.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Walter M Brooks, two brothers Walter A Brooks and Dennis M Brooks, and one sister Shirley Boyd.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memories; a devoted mother, Josephine J Brooks, five sister Bessie Brooks and Cathy Chambers of Mineral VA, Rachel Anderson of Winston Salem NC, Louise Stanley of Louisa VA and Ellen Hartridge of Bumpass VA; seven brothers Caesar Brooks of Louisa VA, Michael (Barbara) Johnson of Ashland VA, Nelson Johnson, Calvin Brooks, Joseph Johnson and Willie Johnson of Mineral VA and Tony Brooks of Bumpass VA; two aunts Lucille Waddy of Mineral VA and Elizabeth Thaniel of Richmond VA; two uncles Jessie (Virginia) Johnson of Louisa VA and Gurney (Daphne) of Richmond VA; a devoted friend Sheila Washington of Alyette VA and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends.
