Rudolph Linwood Coles 74 departed this life on May 23, 2020 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital of Spotsylvania Virginia. He was born to the late Joseph and Agnes G. Coles on July 6, 1945 in Hanover County Virginia. He attended Hanover Public Schools.

He served in the Army in the Vietnam War . Active Duty, with Honorable Discharge, and served in the National Guard of Fredericksburg Virginia Rudolph last worked at Bears Island Paper Company as a machinery operator for 20 years until he became disable. Upon one time he had his own Taxi cab. After that he drove for Bumbrey Cab Service for a few years. He was a very secret and private person and always greeted you with a smile.

He joined Union Baptist Church of Beaverdam Virginia and accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes Coles, his wife Vitriolo Coles of Fredericksburg Virginia and brother Eroy E. Coles of Spotsylvania County. He leaves to cherish two brothers Joseph Coles Jr. (Barbara), Carroll Lee Coles of Spotsylvania County. Two brothers-in-laws Lewis Bundy and Nick Bundy of Fredericksburg Va.
Three aunts Elizabeth Robinson of Richmond Virginia. Viola Johnson and Hazel Thacker of Beaverdam Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His companion Carol Reese, and two devoted friends Michael Marshall and Dorothy Mudd.

When God saw the road was getting long,
The hills were getting harder to climb,
He gently closed your weary eyes
and whispered, “Peace be Thine”
Some day we hope to meet you,
Some day we know not when,
To hold your hand in a better land,
Never to part again.
