Dear Stephanie and family, I have recently learned of the passing of your Dad. With deep respect and sympathy I express my condolences. Mr. Colbert was a joy to see at church, Shiloh Baptist, ushering when I was growing up. He will be sorely missed. May he R.I.P. Always Zina.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Colbert family. My husband and I just heard the news of Reginald and Eula’s passing and are so very sad. We had just moved to Richmond and Moss Side Ave in late November 2019. We didn’t know Eula, but we treasured our run-ins with Reginald when he would go on his walks. We had moved from Washington, DC and Reginald loved talking about growing up in DC and going to American University. He clearly missed his hometown. He also told stories of his huge family. Since both my husband and I come from very large families we shared that in common too and every encounter with Reginald was filled with great stories and lots of laughter. He was so full of life and such a happy soul. We will miss him greatly. Jane and Nicholas Braden

Two hearts forever together. Our condolences to the Colbert family. It was such a pleasure meeting both of them. Mr. Reggie, clean as a pen and a smile never to be forgotten. Mrs. Eula, thanks for sharing your beautiful voice. We know that you are singing in the Heavenly Choir.

My husband and I just moved in next door to Reginald and Eula a few months ago. Reginald would often come over when we were out in the yard and loved to tell us all about his family and his time in dc. He was so incredibly welcoming and kind to us and we are so very sorry to hear of both his and Eula’s passing. Our hearts go out to their family. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to lend you a hand (like Reginald lended us one many times). Our deepest condolences, Ryan and Becca Klein (Neighbors in the white home with pink door next door)

Two hearts now together for eternity separated no more. “Well done, good and faithful servants;…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” May the beauty and love of this man and wife live on within their family. Heartfelt condolences, and prayers for peace beyond understanding are extended.

Reginald and I were co-workers at Dillard’s for many years. He had an infectious personality which is hard to forget. We will miss him.

To the families of Mr. Reginald and Eula Colbert, you have my sincere condolences. I met both Mr. Reggie and Miss Eula when I became a member of St. John in 1994. What a wonderful couple. Their sense of humor gave all of us who knew them joy! They were both dressers. And Mr. Reggie was always dressed to the nines!! My family and I will truly miss them and are heartbroken by their loss but God knew better and we will fondly keep them in our hearts. Rest In Peace!

To The Families Of Reginald C. And Eula J. Colbert I was saddened when I learned of the passing of Mr. Reggie and Eula. I met them at St. John Baptist Church after I had become a member there. They were always a loving and caring couple and I admired them. In just shooting the breeze with Eula one evening, I learned that we both are graduates of Norfolk State University. I will miss them. Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear. May God, the warmth of tender memories and the love of those around you bring you comfort and peace. Charlotte T. Davis

To The Family Of Mr. Reginald C. Colbert HIS JOURNEY’S JUST BEGUN by E. Brenneman Don’t think of him as gone away— his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets— this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved is ever lost— and he was loved so much. To express sincere sympathy in your sorrow. Charlotte T. Davis

My sincere condolences and prayers to the families of Reggie and EJ. May God strengthen you and give you His divine peace and comfort as you grieve the passing of your loved ones. My heart is broken and I am deeply sadden to hear of the passing my dear friends, both whom I loved dearly. Reggie’s wife, EJ, was a tremendous mentor to me when I began my career at BEST Products in 1977. Shortly thereafter, I was introduced to Reggie whom I quickly became very fond of. I became such good friends with them that I was honored to be a bridesmaid in their wedding. I will truly miss Reggie and EJ. While I am sad, I find comfort in knowing that those who die in the Lord die only to live again because they have eternal life in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:8 in the New Living Translation reads, “Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.” They both have completed their journey on earth and are home with the Lord. Reggie your love for Eula has always been evident. Communicating with you when I called Eula expressed how much she meant to you. The two of you are still together, now in heaven. I will miss you and my Alpha Kappa Alpha NSU line sister. Rest on until we meet again. Sincerely, Regina Long Southall Chesapeake, Virginia
