Ellis Family, you have my deepest condolences in the loss of your mother. As you know, I had the pleasure of living next door to you and your mother for 17 years. She was so gracious to me as a new neighbor, often sharing neighborhood history and stories. One of my fondest memories is of knowing that summer had arrived because Mrs. Ellis would be on the front porch in the evening when I got home from work, and we would often have a chat. She will be sorely missed. May your faith in God see you through this difficult time. Nadine

First and foremost I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family.when I think of mom I always think of my own mom ,because of there warm spirits, and there unconditional, love they had for there families, that’s why I can see why they connected so many years ago. Even though mom is in the bosom of the lord she will be greatly missed, never forgotten, I can still her those words when I called her and she greeted me with this words ,hi baby, and before we hung the phone up she would always say you better call me ,and to the family that’s one of the things that I will truly miss. Mom Henrietta was like my mom. She had all the same rules. So when I was at her house it was like being at home. I loved spending the night at 609. I would wake up to the best breakfast food ever. The house always smelled like good food. She was a great person, a positive roll model and she made everybody that crossed the door threshold at 609 feel a special kind of love. In the 57 years that I have known Mom Henrietta, there were three things that never changed — her warm and caring ways, her phone number and her address 609. Her presences in my life will remain in my thoughts and her love will remain in my heart. She will be missed.

A lady who did not give me birth, yet was a mother figure to me. A heart beyond silver, gold or platinum, a caring, loving and kind spirit. Shortly after meeting her, I ceased calling her Ms. Ellis, and gave her the ultimate honor of calling her Mom. I worked with her daughter, Wanda and Mom knew that I loved to eat, and she started sending me food often. Wanda would bring the food, place on my desk, and I would say, “thanks”…. this is not from me remarked Wanda… Momma sent this to you. What manner of a person would do this, when her daughter had expressed some issues with her supervisor. That woman was Mom, a gentle person who cared so much for others. I am so delighted that our paths crossed. I will forever cherish Mom’s memories and embrace her absence. Peaceful Journey Mom and Peaceful Journey. I extend prayers of comfort to the family for sharing Mom with me.

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Much love is given to the Ellis family. May the LORD grant peace and strength in this difficult hour. Rev. Dr. Larry Owens Jr.
