Proceeding in death by her parents Myrtle and William George Berkley, husband William Emmett Allen, children Deaconess Margaret A. Harris, William G. Allen and Linda A. Harris, brother Horace Linwood Shelton and grandchildren Devin Allen and Kenneth King and Deaconess Cathy Harris.

Mrs. Mary Allen leaves to cherish her memory a large loving family: children Edna (Howard) James, Walter L. Allen, Connie (Howard) Carrington, and Willnette (Harold deceased) Robertson. Sons-in-law Deacon Earnest Harris, Sr., Herbert Harris, and God daughter Tenaya Phillips. Grand children Deacon Earnest Harris, Jr., Deacon Sharon Mason, Bernita Harris, Lorraine Harris, Coralett James, Michele Miller, Matieka Harris, Tiara Allen, Patrice Reid, Daniel Carrington, Alicia Robertson, Harold Robertson II, Raymond King, Jacqueline Bell and Dalton King, 15 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. Personal hairdresser and friend Wanda Boone and family friend Grace Washington.

She was a domestic worker and caregiver for many years and then employed by Henrico County Public Schools. Her passion was sewing clothes for herself, her children and others. She loved working outside in her garden with her plants and flowers and enjoyed cooking, especially for her family. Her famous potato salad was in high demand along with fried chicken and sweet potato pies.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed working on Seek and find puzzles, watching the soap operas The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. In addition, Judge Judy, Steve Harvey and Wheel of Fortune. She loved listening to gospel music daily and watching Bishop Gilbert Patterson on Sunday afternoons. She loved and prayed for her family and was truly blessed to see five sets of 5th generations.

“She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her”. Proverbs 3:15
