Lindsay Ellis Nelson Sr. entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2023 at his residence in Hanover County. He was preceded in death by three brothers Curtis, Marvin and Shirley Nelson, four sister-in-law’s Avis, Ellen, Alice and Vella and two brother-in-law’s Carl and Bruce.

Lindsay Ellis Nelson Sr. better known as “Shot” was born on June 14, 1952 to the late William and Clara Nelson. He received his education in Louisa County Public School and graduated in 1971. Lindsay accepted Christ and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age and later joined with his wife at Bethany Baptist Church where he remained until his health begin to fail. He was joined in Holy Matrimony on September 27, 1975 to Myra U. Mallory to this union three children were born. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was lovingly known as Shot, Uncle Shot and Papa to his grandchildren.

Lindsay (Shot) loved life and before various health issues, he was one who worked hard trying to be there and providing for his family and was always willing to extend a helping hand to others. He was funny and had a fun spirit, just so humble especially when he opened up to you. He loved working on things he enjoyed singing or just shaking his head to music. During his earlier years he thought he was on the greatest softball team “The Untouchables”.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Myra of 47 years, four sons Lindsay Jr., Justin (Shari), Devon Sr. and Sly Johnson, one daughter Lashawn Coleman, nine grandchildren, four sisters, Deloris Boodie, Earnestine Johnson (Ronald), Pearl Thomas (James), and Darlene Bolden, two brothers John (Marie) and Toney (Mona) brother in law’s Daniel (Bonnie), Joseph and Kennedy and sister in law Dinah Allen, two aunts Doris Jackson of Richmond and Juanita Henderson of Montpelier.
