Iva Mae Temple was born on June 29, 1937, in King William, Virginia to the late Mable Trueheart. She was the youngest of Mable’s children, all of whom preceded her in death, Theodore Trueheart, Sr. and Orgie Ree Temple. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a member of Total Praise Worship Center in Ashland, Virginia. She attended King William County Public Schools.

On May 28, 1956, Iva married Henry Temple, Sr. They celebrated 66 years of marriage last year. Iva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who believed in treating everyone the same. Iva was also a kidney transplant survivor, celebrating 30 years last July 8th.

Iva was preceded in death by her son, Henry Temple Jr. and grandson, Kashif Temple. She leaves to cherish loving memories to her dedicated and devoted husband, Henry Temple Sr.; dedicated daughters, Amelia Temple of Hopewell, Virginia, Linda Washington (Clayton) and Tara Temple of King William, Virginia; five loyal and devoted grandchildren, Tanganyika Washington, Dante “Keon” Washington, Stacy Norris (Artemus), Tracy Curtis, and Porshia Marsh; seven loving great-grandchildren, Destiny Washington, Beautiful Foreman, Taniah Winston, Aaliyah Winston, Caleb Thompson, Logan Winston, and Xavier Winston; three children she treated as grandchildren, Ashanti Rawlings, Kamryn Rawlings, and Amoni Banks; one aunt, Gladys Dabney; a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins to include Stanford Jackson, Orene Barbour, and Mary Porter; and a host of friends to include Mildred Wilkerson, Ella Lewis, Delores Dandridge, Nurse Mia (Hospice Care), and Nurse Alana (Home Health Care). She was also fond of Caleb’s puppy, Oreo. May her life, love, and heart be an example to all.
