When my numbered days have ended and I’ve reached the father’s shore, friends and loved ones there will greet me who have journeyed on before. I’ll see my blessed Redeemer, Wondrous Savior, Guide and Friend. Together we’ll journey through the ages without end.

Daryl R. Sutton, beloved son of the late Maurice and Gladys Sutton was born on October 1, 1956 in Washington, DC. He peacefully entered eternal life on Thursday August 31, 2023, at his residence after his battle with colorectal cancer. For many years he attended Saint Francis de Sales Catholic School and went on to graduate from McKinley Technology High School located in the District of Columbia. After graduation he then continued his education/career by enlisting into the U.S. Air Force where he became a trained Aircraft Mechanical Engineer to provide for his family. He served four years as active duty and continued to serve the remainder of his career in reservist status in the U.S. Air National Guard until his retirement. He decided to gain another trade by joining IBEW Local 26 Union to pursue a career as an Electrician. For over 30 years, he dedicated his time to training others in the trade until his retirement.
Daryl was a “Jack of all trades, master of all things”, if he didn’t know how to he would find a way. He loved to bowl, play golf and to do anything that had to do with using his hands. He was a teacher, a coach to many and became a friend to all that he met. He never wavered to lend a helping hand and would do anything he could for the people around him. And for some he was their first real example of what a man was and should be.

From a young age he felt the presence of God around him and working through him even when the outside tried its best to keep him away. He decided to be baptized again later in life after joining United Faith Christian Ministry Church in Stafford, VA where he remained a member until he was called home to be with our Father. He will truly be missed.
Daryl’s spirit remains and will be carried on through his three daughters, Kia Sutton-Graves (Greg), Kelly Sutton-Turner (Steve), Nicole Hall-Sutton; his brother Duane Sutton (Loretta); eight grandchildren, Tykia, Greer, Danaysha, Madison, DaQuan, Tavian, Sanya, Shaheem, Carleigh, and Christina; one great grandson, R’yzn; and a host of many loving relatives and friends that became family.
