Alicia Ann Chisley was born in Washington, D.C. on November 16, 1959 to the late Mary Ruth and Albert Andrew Chisley. Alicia was the sixth of ten siblings. Alicia and her siblings shared a very close relationship and from the outside you could see that they were a very tight knit family.

Alicia attended Washington, D.C. Public Schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson Senior High School; she was an avid alumnus. Alicia attended Washington College where she received her degree in Business.

Alicia started her work career at the Washington Hospital Center where she worked for seven years and met many friends. She continued her career at the Bureau of Engraving where she worked for thirty-six years, becoming a shop steward and receiving many accolades before retiring.

Alicia was a standout member of the Meridian Hill Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. where she spent many years under the leadership of the Reverend Calvin Cage. Alicia joined the Canaan Baptist Church, Washington, DC in 2019 under the leadership of Pastor Larry Owens until she was called home to our Lord. During her time at Canaan, Alicia sang with the Voices of Canaan.

Alicia family holds her dear in their hearts and minds; we will love and miss her profusely forever. Alicia was special; her personality was wonderful with her family and friends that she knew a lifetime – including her classmates, outreach groups and colleagues. Alicia had a beautiful smile with dimples you could spot a mile away. She inherited the nickname Smiley. She was always a joyful person keeping her friends for life. She was always willing to have fun and enjoyed her friends and classmates holding them dear. Alicia was always generous sharing her resources with others as needed.

Alicia leaves to cherish her loving memories three brothers Andrew (Lauren), Clifton (Denise), and Christopher (Vicki); five sisters Cynthia, Brenda, Renee, Janis Speller and Naomi. Alicia was preceded in death by her sister Yvette Ruth Chisley and her lifetime companion Edward Coghill.

Alicia also leaves to cherish her memories eight nephews Carlton (Bossy), Cadir (Scooter), Andrew (Andy), Terrelle, Leon (LJ), Kendall, Kennan and Walter (RayRay); six nieces Nefertiti, Janelle, Shaba, Tabitha (Tab), Akira (Lala) and Jasmine; and a host of other family members and friends.
