September 22, 1954 - October 26, 2020
“An angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. Answering my call to heaven’s gate. I quietly went home to live.”
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Isaiah 54:14
Mary Elizabeth Clarke-Campbell, 66, transitioned unexpectedly from here to eternity on Monday, October 26, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Emmett and Garnette Clarke. She was the youngest girl of fifteen children and was born September 22, 1954. She grow-up in Glen Allen (Route 33) in the County of Hanover, Virginia where she was educated at Patrick Henry High School. She worked in the health care industry for over 20 years as a medical records analyst.
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Helen Clarke, Geneva Sampson, Myrtle Clarke, Thelma Clarke; three brothers Thomas, Chastine, and Garland Clarke.
Mary accepted the Lord as her savior early in life and was a humble servant and member of Abner Baptist Church. She was a loyal servant of the Lord. She took pride in knowing her soul was saved and through Christ she received the greatest gift of all, eternal life.
She enjoyed herself a hot cup of Maxwell House coffee, cooking, baking, good music, dancing, watching movies but most importantly, she loved and enjoyed her family. She was sure to always give us a good laugh when she breaks out the “Robot” dance. No one will be able to outdo her delicious banana pudding.
By nature, mothers are nurturers, and she was a true nurturer to her child. She had a heart of gold and was willing to give anyone whatever she had, if that meant she went without.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son: Garnette Clarke; four brothers: Winfrey, James (Christine), Walter (Adeline), Benjamin (Patricia) Clarke; three sisters: Joyce Yates, Ellen Nelson; Georgia Nelson (Harold), husband: Ronald Campbell. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relative and friends.
