A Celebration of a Servant’s Life
Rev. Prince was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who graduated high school in Germany. Following his graduation, at the age of 17, Rev. Prince enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he honorably served the United States of America for 33 years until his government retirement.
Following his retirement, Rev. Prince was ordained a deacon at Mount Hope Baptist Church in Prince George’s County Virginia where he was elevated to Chair of Deacons. He called to preach by God and was licensed to the Gospel Ministry at St. James Baptist Church in Beaverdam, Virginia.
His teachings touched so many, leaving a warm caring feel with whomever he met. Anyone that had the opportunity to meet him would say he was truly a Man of God who demonstrated a servant spirit of caring, loving and giving.
Rev. Prince was blessed with a large and loving family and married his best friend and love of his life, Deaconess Augusta Prince, 41 years ago at Our Lady of Lords in Henrico, Virginia. From this union, they raised three beautiful children with patience, discipline, and humility. While serving in the military, he and his family traveled together frequently across the nation. Not only did Rev. Prince’s orders take him overseas to Germany and Korea, traveling across the globe on government business was a regular task for himself.
Throughout his lifetime, Rev. Prince earned a plethora of awards as a leader, fighter, and provider.
Following his retirement from the United States Army, he was elevated to a classified position with the Federal Government.
Rev. Prince was never “too busy” for anyone. He always had time to answer questions or solve problems regardless of how large or small.
Rev. Prince was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Dr. Walter R. Prince, Sr., mother, Hester V. Prince, bother, Rev. Dr. Walter R. Prince, Jr., and two elder sisters, Esther Willis and Hazel Green. Rev. Prince ran the Christian race and concluded his race on the morning of Saturday, March 14, 2020. At the time of his homegoing, he was completing his matriculation at the University of Maryland for studies in Business and Theology.
