Gale Thompson Robinson, a beloved member of the Beaverdam, VA community, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024. Born on July 10, 1958, Gale was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was a testament to her deep faith, love of learning, and dedication to serving others. Gale was the cherished daughter of the late Walter Herman Thompson and Constance King Thompson. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and furthered her education at St. Paul’s College, where she earned a degree in Biology. Her passion for education continued as she pursued a Master’s in Christian Education and a Master’s in Divinity from Virginia Union University, demonstrating her commitment to both science and faith. Gale married the love of her life, Simon Robinson, with whom she shared 29 beautiful years before his passing. Together, they raised their daughter, Candice Robinson, who was the light of Gale’s life. Gale’s legacy of love, wisdom, and compassion lives on through Candice. A dedicated educator, Gale served as a science teacher in both Hanover County and the Virginia Department for Juvenile Justice for many years until her retirement, twice earning teacher of the year. She touched the lives of countless students with her enthusiasm for learning and her commitment to their success. Gale had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She was an avid lover of hummingbirds and found great joy in music, which filled her home and heart. She treasured time spent with family and friends, always finding ways to create meaningful and memorable moments. Gale Thompson Robinson leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Candice Robinson; her mother, Constance King Thompson; her brother, Patrick Thompson (Darlene) of Beaverdam; sister-in-laws Lucy Robinson and Rachel Mallory of Montpelier; nephews Darrin Robinson, Gregory Robinson, Ryan Mallory (Wendy), Charles Robinson Jr., and Evan Thompson; nieces Diane Joiner (Peter), Stacy Billingsley, and Brandi Kahill (Teo); aunts Ellen Braxton and Natalie Harris (James); uncle Bernard King (Shirley); goddaughter Siretha Goad; and a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, church members, and sorors. Gale’s legacy of love, faith, and education will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love and grace she so generously shared with the world. |
