Jacqueline “Jackie” Anita King, 68, of Ashland, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital in Richmond, VA. She was born on September 25, 1955, to the late Earl R. King, Sr. and Shirley H. King. Jacqueline joined the Greenwood Baptist Church at 12 years of age and sung in the junior choir. She later moved to Northern Virginia and attended Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. “Jackie” graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1974. Her passion for doing hair led her to attend Cosmetology School. She continued to share her passion by offering voluntary services to the Petersburg House in Washington, DC. where she offered free facials, manicures and pedicures to the seniors who lived there. She was the co-owner of a salon/spa which was located in Landmark Mall and lastly before her health declined, she worked as a sales representative at Samsonite Outlet in National Harbor, MD. She enjoyed traveling and cruising (Bahamas, Jamacia and Puerto Rico…). She especially loved visiting the Great Falls, an enormous waterfall in McClean, Virginia. Her favorite football team was the Washington Commanders and one of her favorite pastimes was canoeing down the Potomac River. Jackie was a fashionista: she loved designer clothing, shoes, perfume, jewelry, and purses. She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved mother: Shirley H. King; siblings: Jerome A. King, Sr. (Lillian), Gwendolyn King, Earline Morris (John Jr.), Christine King Baylor (Edmond), and Earl R. King Jr. (Beverly); her beloved nieces and nephews: Jerelyn Hill, Natisha King, Carla Gaines, Samone Downey, Jonnelle Morris, Danielle Morris, Shanise King, Kristen King, Bria Johnson, Jerome A. King, Jr. and Jarrell King; and a host of great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. |
