Reuben Antoine Lewis, 49, affectionately known as “Bubba,” of Hanover, Virginia, transitioned to be with our Lord on February 28th, 2024. He was born on December 14th, 1974, to the late Reuben and Nancy Lewis. Reuben embraced his faith at an early age and was baptized at the Historic Brown Grove Baptist Church in Ashland, VA. He attended Hanover County Public Schools. Reuben’s early passion for working on the garbage truck started at the age of ten when he worked alongside Mr. McKinley Harris (owner of Harris Disposal Service), whom he fondly called “Pops”. Reuben went on to work for several Disposal Service Companies, most recently David Warren Disposal Service. As his passion for the garbage disposal industry grew, he would dream of one day starting his own trash service. That dream became a reality when Reuben established, R.A. Lewis Disposal Service, two years ago. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Beyond his professional pursuits, Reuben had a deep love for detailing cars and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos football team. He found joy in drag racing, particularly grudge racing, and proudly served as a crew member of the Harris Motorsports Racing Team (Big Chucky Racing), traveling extensively throughout Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. Reuben’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished his children, Antoinette and Malik, and his granddaughter, Serenity. He would also enjoy spending time with his favorite cousins, Keith and Greg Lewis. Antione was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Nancy Lewis, his sister, Michelle Hill; his grandparents, Nannie Coleman, Hattie Mae Lewis, Norris Wilson Lewis Sr, Mable Cash, James E Jackson, and Willie Chandler; his uncle, James Jackson, Aunt Melvina Patterson, and his niece Sylvia Hill. |
