“.…In all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of GOD which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 GOD knew you were getting tired and in the presence of family, he gently closed your eyes on February 5, 2024. Katina L. Hopson, affectionately known as Tina, was born December 12, 1972. She was the only child born to Aubrey Hopson, Sr, and the late Jean Johnson Hopson. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Jean Johnson Hopson, grandparents; Oliver and Ethelene Johnson and Aubrey Sr and Bertha Hopson, her Aunt Joyce Johnson who was like a second mother, and fiancé, Marquis Weathers. She was baptized at an early age and became a member of Jericho Baptist Church. Tina loved her church and served faithfully until her health declined. She served in many capacities as a member of the New Generation Chorale and the Voices of Jericho, she served as a member of the administrative staff, a youth advisor, and in her younger years she served on the youth usher ministry. Tina graduated from Caroline High School, class of 1991. Before her health declined, she worked as a front desk clerk at Comfort Inn and as an associate at the JC Penny Catalog center. Tina was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor. She was unapologetically her! You could always count on Tina to say something or do something that would keep you laughing. She loved spending time with her family and would often say ”my family is so good to me and they do whatever I tell them to do.” She shared a special relationship and was considered a bonus daughter to all of her Aunts, affectionally known as “The Sisters.” She had a zeal for life and a courageous spirit, never complaining despite the health challenges she faced. She leaves to continue her legacy of love, her father Aubrey Hopson, Jr, step-mother, Betty W. Hopson; step-sister, Dr. Rhonda V. Sharpe, devoted Aunts; Dorothy Boone, Nancy Bray, Linda Moore, devoted Uncle, Carroll Moore, Sr., god-daughter, Alasia Dalton, Esq., her best friend, sister/cousin, Tanya Kelly, cousin Minister Jamal Moore, who was more like a son, and a loving village of cousins who she referred to as her sisters and brothers and a host of other family members and friends. |
