Blake Stanley Pinkett, of Clarksville, TN and Beaverdam, VA, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2024 at the young age of 19. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his loss. Blake was born on November 13, 2004 to James Eric Pinkett and Karen S. Pinkett in Clarksville, TN. He was a humorous and fun-loving child that enjoyed spending his days playing football, basketball, fishing, and joking around with his siblings, Erica, Brendan, Jackson, and Drey Pinkett. At age 15, he moved to Beaverdam, VA to live with his uncle and aunt, Steve and Casey Smith, and their children, Spencer and Alex, while he attended Patrick Henry High School. During this time, he was a star athlete on the high school basketball team and enjoyed spending time outdoors in his new home in rural Hanover County. Blake graduated from high school in 2023 with his proud parents by his side. He was an incredibly hard worker that put his career and future at the forefront of all that he did, especially during his recent employment at Tolley Electric. Aside from his given family, Blake built a chosen family of friends that was broad and remarkably close. His charismatic and affectionate personality created instant bonds with anyone that he met and ensured that he was surrounded by love during his brief but vibrant life. His loyalty and commitment to these friendships ensured that his legacy will be carried on through stories, laughter, and fond memories by these young adults for decades to come. Beyond the family listed above, Blake is survived by his grandfather, George Smith; aunt, Kathy Ashworth and children (Lauren, Hailee, and Natalee); aunt, Emily Dix; aunt, Sharon Pinkett and children (Devin (Marissa), Brianna, and Ashley); aunt Jennifer Pinkett and her children (Khalen and Micah). He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Evelyn Smith; grandfather, James Pinkett; and grandmother, Marian Pinkett. In lieu of a full service, a viewing is being held for Blake on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 2-6pm at Owens Funeral Services in Ashland, VA.
