Laney Theophilus Moore, Jr. also knows as “Boobie” was born in Washington, District of Columbia on February 21, 1964 to Rose Mary Price Moore and the late Laney T. Moore, Sr. and departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at BridgePoint Hospital Capitol Hill. Laney loved his professional experiences and co-workers who are also lifelong friends. He worked several years as a Security Officer, Argenbright Security Inc., Wackenhut Services Inc. as an Assistant Supervisor, and C&D Security Management Inc. He was widely respected and retired due to his illness as a Protective Security Officer (PSO) for the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Union Vice President for First Responders Police Security. He loved to talk with whomever would listen and would always be heard giving advice to former co-workers even through his illnesses. He fought long and hard to be present for those he loved and cared for. It is hard to believe he is no longer with us and gone much too soon. But we find comfort knowing he is with his dad, older brother and a host of loved ones. Rest in peace Boobie, God only takes the best. He is preceded in death by his father Laney T. Moore, Sr., and his brother Claude L. Moore. He leaves to cherish and honor his memory, his mother Rose Mary Price Moore, his son Laney T. Moore, III, his brother Kenneth R. Moore, Sr., his sister Roslyn Moore, his uncle Dowell A. Davis, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews and family. Laney is also survived by his former wife Tammy Moore and close friends Brenda Johnson and Stewart Griffin. |
