Simon Washington Robinson beloved son of the late Charlie and Sallie Bee Robinson was born on November 11, 1958, in Montpelier, Virginia. He peacefully entered eternal life on August 22, 2023, at his home, after a short but courageous battle with colon cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, Navy veteran, and a cherished member of the community. Simon was a devoted husband of 29 years to his loving wife Gale and a proud father to his daughter Candice (Prince George’s County, MD). He found solace and strength in his faith, having been baptized at Bethany Baptist Church at a young age. As a Navy veteran, Simon served his country with honor and dedication. His commitment to service was evident not only in his military career but also in the way he lived his life, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Outside of working in Kroger’s produce department, Simon had a wide array of interests that brought him immense joy. He had a green thumb and was known for his skillful gardening and landscaping. His passion for the outdoors extended to his love for fishing, a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and find peace in its serenity. Simon was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, finding camaraderie and excitement in cheering for his favorite team. Beyond his sports interests, he was an avid reader, always eager to explore new worlds through the pages of a book. One of Simon’s most cherished qualities was his ability to bring laughter to any situation. His infectious sense of humor and quick wit could lighten the hearts of those around him, making him a cherished friend and confidant to many. Simon is now reunited with his parents, brother Charles (Hawk) Robinson (Velma), and sisters, Seressa and Iretha Robinson. To also cherish his memories, he leaves behind his sisters Lucy Robinson and Rachel Mallory of Montpelier. Mother-in-law Constance Thompson. Brother-in-law Patrick Thompson (Darlene). Nephews: Darrin Robinson, Gregory Robinson, Ryan Mallory (Wendy), Charles Robinson Jr., and Evan Thompson. Nieces: Diane Joiner (Peter), Stacy Billingsley, and Brandi Kahill (Teo). And a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins, customers, and friends that loved him dearly. Simon Washington Robinson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. “In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Colorectal Cancer Alliance, in the hope of finding a cure and preventing further loss from this devastating disease.” |
