Carmen Torres (71) gained her wings on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Carmen was born on March 11, 1951 in New York City. She was the first of four children of Evelyn Nunez and Manual Torres, Sr. A woman of many talents, undeniable beauty and immense inner strength, Carmen shared her spirit with everyone who came in contact with her. She was an amazing dancer, excelled in every job she had and shined as an interior designer. She dressed impeccably and left a lasting impression everywhere she went. Carmen faced life’s challenges fearlessly. She instilled strength, kindness, style and dedication in her children, Jason, Leslie and Jena. On life’s journey, Carmen enjoyed creating memories with her family, extended family, and close friends. From playing her violin at Carnegie Hall as a young lady to dancing, to cooking, to traveling, Carmen lived a full life. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn, brothers Manuel (Gladys) and Alex (Evelyn), sisters Irene (Ricky) and Milta, sons Jason (Lisa) and Leslie, daughter Jena (Derek), beautiful stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and loving extended family and friends, including her goddaughter, Tamara Coleman. She joins her father Manuel in heaven, along with friends and family who are watching over us. As our family grieves this devastating loss, we would like to express our gratitude for the overwhelming support received from so many who knew Carmen and cherished her place here on Earth. As a family, we are honoring her memory at a later time to ensure all who loved her can attend. Please contact her daughter, Jena with any questions. |
