Our dearly beloved Cindy Iola Carter gained her wings Thursday, August 25, 2022, after a long battle with breast cancer. Cindy was born May 16, 1975. After living in Goochland County for a short period of time, Cindy, her brother Frederick Carter and parents, Inez and Gable Banks moved to Henrico County where Cindy gained another sibling, Elton Banks. Cindy graduated from Hermitage High School in 1993 and shortly entered the workforce. Cindy accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age joining St. Mark Baptist Church where she later rededicated her life to Christ on August 19, 2009. Cindy was a devoted and hard-working mother who adored her children. She loved to travel, she enjoyed spending time with family, attending her son’s football games, watching movies, and hanging out with friends; Mandy, Angie, Nikki, Nicole, and Shawan, better known as her “For Lifers”. Cindy worked for the United States Post Office for 19 years where she developed and maintained a close working relationship at the Nuckols Road location. Cindy was quiet and reserved but had no problem putting you in your place should you step out of line. She was a loyal individual who did not play about her kids, family, and friends! She had a smile that would warm your heart and will forever be missed.
