Ms. Linda Mae Houchens, better known as Boo, was born on April 25, 1956 in Montpelier, VA to the late John and Bertha Houchens. She completed this earthly journey on February 2, 2022.
Boo was educated in the Hanover County Public School system and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1974. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Bethany Baptist Church.
Boo loved cooking, people, working, soul music (especially Sam Cook and Otis Redding), animals and her children. She loved her family. She had a pretty smile. She wasn’t a materialistic person. Boo was always there to help anybody out. A strong single mother who worked two jobs. She was much like a mother figure to others. Linda was not a person to seek attention from others. She thoroughly enjoyed working at the South Anna Elementary School and the Ponderosa Steak House in Ashland, VA.
She was blessed with a large and loving family that will dearly miss her, but celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator. On Wednesday, February 2, she returned to her heavenly home to be reunited with her parents, and those who had gone on before her. Linda had many caring family, devoted friends, and others that will miss her dearly.
Left to cherish her memories and to continue her legacy are: Her son, Terry Houchens, and Daughter, Latasha Houchens One Sister: Marie Nelson and devoted brother-in-law John H. Nelson.
