Mazie Ledonia Brown

MAZIE L. BROWN, 89, of Spotsylvania County passed away peacefully at her residence on November 29, 2021.
Mazie was born August 31, 1932 to the late Ivory Gibson Banks and Clifton Banks in Spotsylvania, Virginia. She received her education in the Spotsylvania County public school system.

Mazie accepted Christ and joined St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend William Jackson. Later in life she joined Piney Branch Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member and participated in the senior choir.
Mazie was united in marriage for 52 years to Roy Stanley Brown of Spotsylvania County. She enjoyed dancing, was a great gardener, and didn’t mind talking to family and friends on the phone for hours. Also, she loved children and often cared for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mazie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ivory Gibson Banks and Clifton Banks, her husband Roy Stanley Brown, her siblings, Elizabeth Banks, Fred Banks, Geraldine Banks, Kenwood Banks, Mabel Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Vincent Banks, Sylvester Banks, Inez Scott, Clifton Banks, and Mercile Banks. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Melvin Banks and Iretha Banks Johnson, her sisters, Lillian Cottoms and Katherine Brown, and her brother, Walter Banks, two sister-in-laws Mary Alice Banks and Bernice Brown, and a host of grand children and family members.
