Melvin Curtis Smith took his eternal rest on Sunday August 22 2021 at the tender age of 67. His life here on earth was full of love from his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter Shameka (Smith) Lessane, son in law Sherman Lessane Jr. stepchildren James Leroy Smith, Starklen Smith (Veronica), Marcus Lewis, Jametta Washington (Tyrone), grandchildren Larion Davis, Shamaniqua Lessane and Sherman Takai Lessane. He is also survived by his loving siblings Marion Willams, Valerie Windom, Terlyn smith Frazier, Wellington Smith Jr. and Pamela Smith. Brothers in laws Ed and James Melvin was born May 13th, 1954 in Wintergarden, Florida. He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Anderson Smith and his father Wellington E. Smith, and brother Dennis Smith. As a child he was very active in sports like football, he was spiritually inclined, bHe help those that were less fortunate atr missionary and coalition of orlando florida. He was very invilolved in helpling others and paying it forward as a child of God. He loved to talk and give spiritual advice. He never met a stranger. Elove to make people laugh and was honest no matter ther outcome. He talked to all of the people he came in contact with. he loved to read books, and watch westerns like gun smoke or shows like Sanford and Son. At an early age was an Alter boy at catholic church in Buffalo, New York. He was also a member of Mount Saini Baptist Church in Varnville, SC. Melvin told some of the best stories, He woke every morning with the sun and would take walks. He took time out with grandchildren and took them on adventures and picnics, taught them how to swim, and helped them get with little rebellious acts like a grandfather should but of course still instilled things like being humble about life. He liked to help others, and build things with his hands like houses, cement driveways or cars. His life will forever be remembered. |
