Charles Vincent Johnson known as Charles was born September 3, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was the second gift of life born to Huston Q. and Cecelia M. (Hopewell) Johnson. He departed June 8, 2021. He was baptized Catholic, and later on baptized in the Baptist faith. He received his education from the Catholic School system in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty, and Roman Catholic High School. He was married to his beloved wife Joanalyn Johnson from the Philippines. He has two children Ladyangela Tooks and Princess Ann Neal. He later adopted three younger children Michael, Justin and Jordan Johnson. Charles was employed by Septa transportation bus services of Philadelphia, Pa. for 15 yrs. He attended Wilfred Hair Academy and graduated at the top of his class. He received his cosmetology license which gave him the opportunity to start his own entrepreneurship in hair and barbering. He was inspired by his daughter’s names, LadyAngela and Princess Ann, to call his business Sir Charles Hair salon in Norristown, Pa. Upon relocating to Virginia he owned a hair salon in Fredericksburg and Reston, Virginia; and later on he was employed by Christ Chapel Academy in Woodbridge, Va. He was a 3rd degree black belt in karate and was a boxing and karate instructor for the Dale City Recreation Center in Woodbridge Va. He loved outdoor activities such as jogging, biking, and long walks. Charles is now joined with his father, mother, and three brothers in death, Gregory, Bruce and Barry Johnson. He is survived by his beloved wife Joanalyn Johnson from the Philippines, his sister Cecelia Victory, Philadelphia, Pa., and his daughters LadyAngela Tooks (husband Gregory), Princess Ann Neal (husband Martin), Michael, Justin and Jordan along with grandchildren Juan, Ashley, Chelsy, Martine, and Skylar; and great grandchildren Sofie, Carmelo, Reign, Araya, Alexis, Brandon, and Ava. He is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews along with a host of other family and friends. |
