Thomas C. Tate, Jr.

Thomas Christopher Tate Jr. 31, known to many by his middle name Chris, departed this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Chris was born in Long Beach, California on February 15, 1990.
He was the son of Ms. Mary Jean Tate and Mr. Thomas Christopher Tate Sr.

Chris graduated from Brooke Point High School in Stafford; VA. Chris lived in Petersburg, VA with his longtime friend and roommate Garvin Jackson. Chris was employed by Perdue (chicken) where he served as a picker.

Chris was known by his friends as the most amazing, funny, loyal, smart, and caring person. He was known for his beautiful spirit and infectious smile. It was quoted that everyone who met Chris immediately loved him because he was such a genuine and real person. An only child, Chris was the love of his mother’s life. He was God’s gift to his parents and will be greatly missed.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories are: His loving mother Mary Tate; his father Thomas Christopher Tate Sr. (Rosie) of Chesapeake, VA; his son Zion Tate, of High Point, North Carolina; his sister, Adelle Tate, of Chesapeake, VA; his grandmother, Lethia Ransome, of Hammond, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
