On September 25, 2020 at 8:57am at Mary Washington Hospital God saw you were tired and whispered,” My child take your rest”. William Samuel Sprow was born the eldest child to the late Sgt Major. James Arnold (Retired) and Anita Morton-Sprow on May 16, 1933 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. William graduated from the Original Walker-Grant High School Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1951. He matriculated on to receive his Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree from Hampton Institute (University) Class of 1956. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in US Army in 1957. William was favored to be stationed alongside his father at several duty station in both the U.S.A. and in Korea. Bill and Helen settled in the Kettering; Maryland area, where he was employed as a Federal Contractor in Information Systems the until retiring in 2000. William was affectionally known by family as “Daddy-Bill” William was proceeded in death by his wife Helen of 50 years by 13 days. He leaves to cherish his life, love and legacy a step-son Bruce Harris, grandchildren whom he raised with his wife Helen Robert Erin (Lynn) and Ebony Jones, two sisters, Mary L. Preston (Clarence) and Delores S. Bland (William) one Sister-in-Law Nona Stanley (Randolph) and Nephew, Rev. David A. Cunningham (Victoria) with whom he lived. A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones to cherish his memory.
