Linwood “Dad” Smith of Beaverdam, Va passed away peacefully at home on September 16th 2020 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Smith. He was a dedicated son and brother, devoted husband, caring father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Linwood’s love for his family and friends ran deeply and knew no boundaries. Linwood was a lifetime member of St. James Baptist Church in Beaverdam. He worked for Mark’s Pulpwood Yard for a number of years before his employment with Flippo Lumber Company. After retiring from Flippo years later, Linwood chose to work at the Food Lion in Ashland because he enjoyed people and knew no strangers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Everlena Smith; three children Lisa Smith, Linwood M. Smith (Charmaine) and Vincent Smith Sr. (Kristie); one sister Betty Dabney, two brothers, Alexander Smith (Carolyn) and Alvin Smith( Gloria); five stepchildren, Frazett Cates, Pamela Spencer, William Spencer, Max Spencer and Stephen Spencer; eleven sisters-in-law, seven brothers in-law, sixteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren; a devoted grandson Chris Broaddus; three devoted friends, Billy Ray Smith, Charles Fox and Susie May Hicks and a host of family and friends. His kind and generous spirit will be missed by all. |
