While attending college Helen met and married William “Bill” Sprow on November 14, 1970. They made their home in Kettering, Maryland. Helen, affectionally known as “MA Helen” had a big personality and a heart that matched. She was described as loving, caring, sweet, and would tell it like it is. She was also a comedian and if a good tune came on she was ready to dance and even sing. She enjoyed spending time with Bill as they went shopping, to church, a good play or just spend time with family. Along with a lasting heart of gold she leaves a husband of 50 years William “Daddy Bill” Sprow, a son that she adored and loved dearly, Bruce Harris, two grandchildren that she raised for most of their lives Robert Ervin (Lynn) and Ebony Jones, and a loving sister Nona Stanley (Randolph), a nephew by marriage Rev.
