Thessalonians 5:2 “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”

On November 4, 2018, God called home our beloved Husband, Daddy and Papa. Robert Odis Daniel, slipped peacefully at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1947 to the late Robert L. and Irene Daniel. He was also preceded in death by his brother Floyd Daniel.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Union Baptist Church Beaverdam, VA. On March 28, 2013 he moved his membership to Second Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Marvin Fields. He enjoyed worshipping and sat faithfully on the first pew in the balcony. On Sunday afternoon, you could find him enjoying family time and cutting up with his sons-in-law. They formed a strong bond and enjoyed joking with each other. You would often hear him say, “Think Watt! Think Dre’!” Then he would holler “It’s over!”

Robert was a 1966 graduate of Union High School, Milford, VA. Robert would often get in trouble for doing devilish things. For that reason, his wood shop teacher, Mr. Walter Lowe nicknamed him “Loose Screw”. He made many friends there and they remained friends to this day.

Robert retired from Reagan National Airport on December 14, 2017. He was a Skycap for almost 50 years. He was known as Danny to his co-workers and regular customers. He was a dedicated worker who took pride in servicing his customers. They would often call him personally to let him know that they would be traveling. His customers treated him well. There have been numerous phone calls since his death. His co-workers and customers have expressed their deepest sympathy.
His hobbies included “ATVing”, fishing, gardening, and hunting. You could often find him in Green Top. He was preparing to go hunting when he suddenly became ill. He was a member of the L&B Hunt Club, New Kent, VA. Robert was also considered the “Neighborhood Watch Patrol” in Boone Town. He loved his neighbors and they loved him.

Outspoken. Provider. Family Man. He leaves to cherish great memories to his devoted wife of 50 years, Shirley; devoted daughters, Tomika Stevens (Watt), Maranda Addison (Andre’); grandchildren, Myles Stevens, Alban (A.J.) & Raven Dudley, Andre’ (A.J.) & Briana Addison; two great-grandchildren, Mia & Zayne; brothers, Tommy, Carroll “Frank” (Bonnie) and sister Lydia Boulware; Aunt, Beatrice Lewis; sisters-in-law, Verna Williams, Velma Hatcher (Charles), Marion and Thomasina Baylor, several devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
