Desmon accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the North Gayton Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia under the leadership of Reverend James Hedgepeth.

He received his education in the Caroline County School System, graduating from Caroline High School in 2009. Dez participated on the football team and ROTC. He also participated in a Karate Club.

Desmon was a very low keyed type of guy. He loved to entertain family at gatherings. He was a Miami Dolphins fan, a video fanatic, and a sneakers freak. He loved sport cars, and motorcycles.
