Cora Lee Barnes Rowe, daughter of the late Willie and Cora Barnes, was born in Fremont, NC on July 23, 1926. She went to her new home with Jesus on August 1, 2018. Cora was the last of twelve siblings to go home to live with the Lord. She loved all her siblings but especially missed her twin, Hattie.

Cora was educated in the Wayne County School System in North Carolina. In 1953 the family left North Carolina and moved to Fredericksburg, VA.

Cora was united in marriage in 1944 to Leonard (Buddy) Rowe. From that union was born a son, Leonard Rowe, and two daughters, Gearlette and Diana Rowe. In 1969 Bernice Lowe and Judy Williams joined the family.

Cora joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 309 Wolfe Street, Fredericksburg, VA. There she was a member of the Senior Choir, Gospel Chorus, the Usher Board, the Missionary Ministry, the Willing Workers Club and the Deaconess Ministry, all under the leadership of the late Reverend James O. McMorris.

Cora enjoyed traveling, cooking, bingo, sewing, solitaire and word search books. Cora was a devoted and caring mother. She truly loved her family and her extended family.

In addition to her siblings, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard and daughter, Diana.

She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her children Leonard Rowe, Jr. (Gwendolyn), Gearlette Rowe, Bernice Lowe (Richard) and Judy Williams; grandchildren Leonard Rowe, Nathaniel Rowe (Susan), Jamel Rowe, Alicia Burch (Andrew), Kyle Lowe; great grandchildren Ryan Rowe, Jason Rowe, Taylor Rowe, Donnavin Burch, Karter Burch and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
