Benjamin F. Coles, 91, was born May 5th, 1927 to the late James and Bertha Coles. He quietly entered eternal rest on Wednesday July 4th, 2018 at the Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center, Mechanicsville, VA.

“Benny”, as he was affectionately known by everyone, attended Hanover County Public Schools and joined the Union Baptist Church at an early age. Ben was a devoted brother, uncle and friend. Benny worked as a lumber mill laborer for many years. Benny enjoyed watching t.v., especially sports, wrestling and westerns. While living in Beaverdam you would always find him sitting on the front porch or in the shade under a tree waving as cars drove by. Benny loved family and he loved to laugh.

Benjamin was one of 10 children which all proceed him in death, three brothers: Albert, Hestell and Joseph Coles Sr., six sisters: Alice, Mable, and Virginia (Pauline) Waller, Irene Gillians, Geraldine Spare, and Ruby Coles. He is also proceeded in death by life time friend, Floyd Taylor.

He is survived by one son, Emmet Jackson (Nancy) of Raleigh, NC, 10 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. One devoted niece, Pauline Graves and one devoted nephew, George Waller (Pickle). Benny will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
