Lucille Hudson entered into eternal rest on November 21, 2017 while in Hospice Care at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA with her husband by her side.

She was born on July 28, 1937 in Nash County, NC to the late Addison and Lena Griffin. She was one of eight siblings (George, James, Mason, Lee, Willie, Johnnie and Cora) who all preceded her in death. She also received her education in Nash County, NC prior to moving to Washington, DC where she resided over sixty years.

On December 22, 1957, Lucille was joined in holy matrimony to Columbus Hudson. To this union were two children: Centra and Gloria. Lucille enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, taking long rides and sewing. She retired from Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a seamstress.

Lucille accepted Christ in her later life and was baptized at Second New Saint Paul Baptist Church in Washington, DC. There she sang in the choir and remained an active member for many years.

Lucille leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, Columbus of Fredericksburg, VA; her two daughters, Centra Williams (Donald) of Fredericksburg, VA and Gloria Murray; three grandchildren: Terry Hudson of Fredericksburg, VA; Andrea Lott (Keith) of Fredericksburg, VA and Timothy Hudson of Stafford, VA; seven great grandchildren: Terrence, Michael, Ashley, Anthony and Terrell of Stafford, VA and Arianna and Kai of Fredericksburg, VA; one nephew from her oldest sibling: Earl Griffin of Washington, DC; one brother in-law George Hudson of Valdosta, GA; one sister in-law Evelyn Griffin of Silver Spring, MD; three nieces she spent a lot of time with Beatrice Cooper and Ruby Hill of Alexandria, VA and Gwendolyn Williams (Henry) of Valdosta, GA; and a host of other special nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.
