A busy life came to a close in November 18, 2017 when the one we loved stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it is was only a step into another room and not a stepping out of the fellowship of life. It was just a stepping into one of the other rooms at our Father’s house.

Thomas Edward Ellis was born to Thomas Hubert Ellis (deceased) and Doris Ellis on July 2, 1948. He was the second of five children. He was a graduate of the A.G. Richardson High School of Louisa County, VA. Thomas joined Mt. Hope at an early age and was baptized by Rev. P. H. West. He was a faithful member of Mount Hope Baptist Church. He was a member of the Men’s Choir, the Usher’s Ministry, the Media Tape Ministry, and Men’s Fellowship. He was united in holy matrimony to the former Joyce Holt (deceased) and to this union one daughter was born, Cherita Denise Ellis.

In the community he was a member of the Louisa/Temple Lodge #113 as the Worship Master until his health failed. Thomas was an industrious person who was the owner of his own Brick Mason business. He also was employed by Clarks Construction, Truck Driver for Giants Food Inc. in Maryland, and part-time at ABM Janitorial at Henrico Doctor Hospital. Thomas was a good man, always kind, true, and helpful. He was respected and loved by all who knew him.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Cherita Ellis, mother, Doris Ellis, two brothers, Curtis (Loretta), Melvin (Jearline), and sister, Patricia; six grandchildren, 5 great children, one son in-law; one aunt Mary Graves (Samuel), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and a devoted friend Emily Butler.
