Virginia Whitney was born October 26, 1943 to the late Gertrude Whitney. She entered eternal life on Friday, September 9, 2022.

Virginia was preceded in death by her step-father Cornelius Roy, son Paul Whitney, sister Darlene Sherman, brother Theodore (Boone) Whitney and grandsons Melvin Felds, Jr. and Malcom E. Coleman.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Scripture Chw·ch of Chiist in Baileys Cross Roads, VA, but later started attending First Baptist Church of Merrifield in Falls Church, VA.

Virginia was raised in Fairfax County. She attended Luther Jackson High School.

Virginia worked at the Impe1ial Cleaners Wedding Gown Restoration in Falls Church, VA. Her specialty was restoring celeb1ities outfits.

Virginia loved cooking for her family and loved doing yard work and working on her flowers. Her favorite football team was the Washington Redskins now known as the Washington Commanders Oh, how she loved those skins! She also enjoyed traveling to different casinos.

She leaves to che1ish her memory three daughters: Rita (James) Blakeney, Betty Jean Whitney, and Frances Whitney, four brothers: Larry (Mary) Whitney, Roger Whitney, Lloyd Whitney, Cornelius Whitney, five sisters: Mary Whitney, Baseemah (Salheddin) Nashid, Carolyn Whitney, Vanessa Whitney, and Loretta (Gene) Holmes, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews family and friends.
