Thelma Teen Thomas was born on February 19, 1931. She transitioned from life to reward at the Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, Virginia on September 5th, 2021. She was the 2nd of nine children born to the late Harry and Estelle Johnson..

Thelma attended Caroline County public schools. She joined Jericho Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her health failed . She was an active member of many ministries including The Choir, The Hospitality Committee, She worked with the Youth Committee and was secretary of the Missionaries for many years.

Thelma was united in marriage to the late Deacon Lee Roy Thomas for 48 years. From this union twogirls and three boys were born., including one son, James Randolph who preceded them in death.

She held several positions of employment in Virginia as well as Washington , DC.

Thelma leaves to cherish her memory four children Naomi Hawkins (James), Teresa Thomas, Vincent Thomas (Tish) and Mark Thomas.; one brother Jessie Leon Johnson of District Heights, Md; Four sisters Essie Thomas of Ruther Glen, VA, Arlene Fox and Rose Etta Hales of Washington D.C. and Marie Goodall of Richmond, VA. Two sisters Gertrude and Everdene and one Brother Harry Tyrone preceded her in death; Four sisters-in-law, Annie B. Fox, Eleanor Johnson, Marion Mickens, Patricia Taylor-Smith, two brothers -in-law Joseph Terrell and William (Billy) Taylor. Five Grandchildren Tanya, Ebony, Teon, Shequinta and Jasmine. one Grandson –in-law Vladimir; seven great grandchildren, Skylar, Jordan, Vladimir,Jr. Daemon, Myles, Austin and Ja’Kari and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One devoted friend, Jeannette Parker.
