Shirley Lois Brown Young was born on May 30th 1939 to the late John Henry Brown Sr. and Lottie Taylor Brown.

Shirley went home to be with the Lord August 5th 2024 at the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

Shirley attended the Caroline County High School and graduated from Union High School in 1957. She was married to the late James E. Young Jr. Shirley was a member of the Mt. Salem Baptist Church in Ruther Glen Virginia where she was a dedicated usher for many years.

She found employment at the Foreign Domestic, Weyerhaeuser, Holly Farms, and eventually retired from CVS after many years.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Michael Anthony Young and Mark Andre Young (Michelle); Three grandsons, Michael Jr, MarTwaun and Mark II; Three sisters, Pearl Minor, Gloria Samuel and Betty Brown and four great-grandchildren Makyia, Ma’Kari, Mia and Marley

A devoted nephew Ronald Brown, 3 devoted cousins Doris Anderson, Ann Watkins, and Florence Garnett. A longtime friend she met while working at CVS Jackie Christopher and a devoted sister-in-law Gloria Robinson.

Also the family would like to thank First Lady Pamela Beasley and Doris Beasley from the Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta Virginia for the deliveries of dinners on Wednesdays, you were a blessing to her.
