Samuel Henry White was born May 9, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Mrs. Willie Mae White Davis. He was called home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2021 at the age of seventy-four years old (74) in Bladensburg, Maryland.

Samuel, fondly known as “Butch”, was a 1966 graduate of Park Central High School, Bluefield, WV. He attended Bluefield State College and was president of the local 4-H Club. Samuel then went on to serve our country as a member of the United States Air Force. While living in Bluefield he was employed by Sinkford and Richardson Funeral Home for a number of years.

At an early age, Samuel became a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church, Bluefield, WV. After moving to Maryland, he worked for several Limousine and bus companies.

Samuel was a proud member of Canaan Baptist Church, Washington, DC. He
joined with the Canaan family in the late 1980’s and supported all activities of the St. John Gospel Family. Samuel enjoyed helping others and one of his main joys was serving his church’s Tuesday Feeding Ministry. Samuel also opened his door to people in need. He gained bragging rights this past birthday when his great -great niece, Soreigh Johnson was born on May 9, 2021.

Samuel was preceded in death by his stepfather Earl M. Davis and brother Algerman B. White. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings: Dr. William M. White, Katherine (Arthur) Brown, Earl M. White of Bluefield, WV; Glen P. White of Antioch, CA; Josephine Poe of Bristow, VA; Paula Montgomery of Baltimore, MD and Leon Montgomery who resides in North Carolina. He is also survived by a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was an adopted family member to Dr. Stanley Sinkford and the entire Sinkford family.
