Rashad was a kind, loving, sensitive soul and one of the best friends I’ve ever had. He had a well-defined sense of values and was extremely intelligent. I met him in 1986 when we worked for the same company. I was the new guy and Rashad taught me the things I needed to know to be successful and he did it with both patience and authority. We became fast friends and looked out for each other going forward. Rashad was so loved by my family that when he fell on hard times he moved in with my mother for 13 months. And he loved his family. When his mother and sister came to Washington to visit I had the pleasure of meeting and spending a few days with them. It was evident to me just how much love they had for him and how much love he had for them. He always said he was the baby in the family and a mama’s boy, all in the best ways. After I moved to Oregon 13 years ago we still stayed in touch. Any visit to the DC area always included visits with Rashad. Sadly he lost his phone number several years ago and we lost touch. I found out today from a mutual friend that he had passed away. I am extremely saddened but wanted his family to know how much of a positive impact he had on my life and how I am a better man for having been able to call him a friend and a brother. I love you Rashad! Rest In Peace.
