Mrs. Patricia Marion Young “Pelottie” of Caroline County departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. She was born on August 10, 1937 to the late John and Juanita Moore. She was educated in the Caroline County school system.
She accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined the Jericho Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, VA. She was President of the Usher’s Ministry where she served faithfully until her health failed.

Pelottie had a warm, loving and giving spirit. She was known as the neighborhood mom and was babysitter to most of the children in the community. She loved family gatherings, special occasions and eating out. She significantly touched the lives of many people who will miss her immensely

In 1954 she was joined in holy matrimony to Smith O Young Jr. To this union five children were born. One daughter preceded her in death, Sharon Young. Also preceding her in death two sisters, Barbara Reynolds and Helen Howard. Two brothers, John Moore Jr and Herman Moore.

She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Michael Young (Violet) of Ruther Glen, VA, Wanda Mallory (Larry) of Montpelier VA, Karen Clayton (Junie) and Adrian Young (Carolyn) of Glen Allen, VA; ten grandchildren, Vincent, Regina, Michael Jr., Tiffany, Ashley, Adrian Jr., Robert Jr., Wilbert III, Christopher, and Corey; five great-grandchildren, Tyree, Jaden, Noah, Aiden and Sophia. One sister, Hallie Woolfolk of Waldorf, MD and one brother, Carroll Moore Sr (Linda) of Ruther Glen, VA. Six sisters-in-law, Louise Young, Helen Claiborne, Frances Glover, Yvonne Aikens, Gwen Young and Mary Moore. Two brothers-in-law, Melvin Howard Sr. and Rev. Edward Glover. A host of nieces two devoted Deborah Morris and Cynthia Winston, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to her caregivers, Mavis Lewis, Amanda Redd and Sydney Rollins.
