Martha Elizabeth Key departed this life on July 5th, 2020. She was born on September 12th, 1940 in Washington, D.C. to Florence Lee and William Beana. When she lived in Washington, D.C., she met her future husband Clifton Key. They later moved to Newark, New Jersey with their five children and got married in 1980. The family then relocated to Chesterfield, Virginia in 1998.

Martha was a very kind-hearted person. She loved to take care of people and help them out as much as she can. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. She would open her home to you, provide you with shelter if you needed it and she would feed anyone and everyone.

She was a family-oriented person. She especially loved children so much. She has taken care of so many children in her lifetime. In addition to raising her own children, she had taken care of many other children as well. Her children would describe their home as full of “fun” and “love”. She had a heart that was a purely made of gold and she will be truly missed. She has created lasting memories that will live in everyone that she has touched.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Mary Lee Davis (George), Darnell Lee (Mary), Curtis Lee, Samuel Lee, Idaway Lee, Charlene Green (Jonathan), Denise Silvers and Timothy Hill and her loving sister Bonnie Lee; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other friends and family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, her brothers, her husband, and her daughter.
