Mario Isaiah Leonard- departed this life on December 29, 2022. He was born on February 5, 1998 in Washington DC to the Late Michael Leonard Sr. and Crystal Lynn Dixon.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents Crystal and Michael; Grandparents James and Annie Baker; Brother Marcellous Leonard and Uncle Stanley Leonard.
Mario attended Prince Georges County Public schools and received his GED.
Mario was a fighter from the very beginning of his life at three months old.
Mario survived a house fire that would ignite his fighting spirit and resilience that would last for the remainder of his life.
Mario received Christ at an early age and became a baptized member at Corinthian Baptist Church located in Lanham, MD.
Mario had a passion for music and had a deep desire for the world to hear his creative expression.
He enjoyed hanging with his family. He enjoyed watching football and rooting for his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys.
Mario enjoyed outings with his siblings, he often expressed how grateful he was for these moments because he knew the importance of family and time. After Mario’s Father Michael passed he was raised by his uncle and aunt Stanley and Marcia Leonard. The pair provided Mario with love and unwavering dedication.
Mario was a beacon of strength and perseverance. He had a relationship with Christ and although challenges arose he still held that relationship very close.
On December 29, 2022 after leaving his new employment at Busboys and Poets-Anacostia Mario’s life was tragically cut short due to senseless violence. Leaving a void in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of his presence
Mario leaves to cherish his memory Five Brothers: Christopher Dixon, Anthony Dixon, Michael Randolph, Alphonso Dixon and Debonaire Leonard. Two Sisters: Erica Dixon and Rashawn Randolph; One Grandmother Evelyn Gray; Three Uncles: Darryl Baker, Larry Leonard and Ronald Leonard. Six Aunts: Marcia Leonard, Racheal Moode, Magaline Kelly, Moezelle Ricks, Brenda Bobbitt and Debbie Leonard. Two Great Aunts: Betty Curtis and Jenny Ward.
Nieces and Nephews Kamorah, Zara, Ahmad, Blake, Delvonni, Michael, Rashad and Mariah. A host of other relatives and friends.
