Lindsey E. Derricott, the son of Clinton Doswell Derricott and Lou Ann Shelton was born June 10, 1953 in Montpelier, Virginia.

At an early age he accepted faith in Christ and joined Bethany Baptist Church in Montpelier, Virginia. He later became a dedicated member and servant at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. During this time, he served faithfully as an Armor Bearer and Deacon.

On October 24, 1992, Lindsey married Darlene Macelle Winn. This union afforded them many happy times together with family and friends, travel and reaching out to all reflecting and embracing compassion and love. While this union was childless, Lindsey was loved so much by his many nieces and nephews as the “favorite uncle” and the best godfather to his goddaughter, Logan Faith Phillips.

Lindsey’s educational journey included graduating from Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, Virginia. His postsecondary academic achievements (with honors) included obtaining an Associate of Applied Science degree in Merchandising, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking and a Master of Science in Business Administration. He demonstrated a strong knowledge in technology and pursued employment and organizational opportunities allowing him to apply his many competencies and skills. He had a strong belief in learning and would support and encourage those who wanted the same.

In addition to his parents, Lindsey was preceded in death by his brother, Garfield Derricott and sisters, Bernice Phillips and Yvonne Stills. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Darlene, his brother, Clinton D. Derricott, Jr. (Arlene); brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, devoted Joanne Cousins and Keith Ketters. `

Lindsey was kind and respectful to all and would do anything for anyone. His quiet, gentle and warm demeanor allowed him to listen and to offer effective advice in the most cordial aspect. He loved the ocean and treasured tranquility from day to day. He was an inspiration that will surely be missed and remembered forever.
