Lawson Andrew Coles Sr. was born to his parents Albert and Lula Coles in Hanover County Virginia on January 2nd 1945. He departed this life on September 17th 2022 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was raised in Hanover County and attended Hanover County Public Schools. Lawson was Baptized at Union Baptist Church at an early age then in 2019, Under the Leadership of Thomas Odell Johnson True Apostolic Church in Mineral Virginia where he was faithful until his health declined.

He worked for Robert (Bob) Taylor for 17 years towards the later parts of his life here until he became ill. He was proceeded in death by his Parents Albert Coles & Lula Coles and Siblings: Richard Coles, Henry Coles, Bernice Waller, Elaine Coles, Lester Coles and James Carter.

He leaves to cherish his loving wife Mary Coles of fifty years and his two children, Lawson Andrew Coles Jr (Lillian )of Richmond Va, Paulette Henson(David)of Caroline County Va, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. One godson Lester Coles.Two Brothers Milburn Coles(Debra)of Louisa Va and Dempsey Coles( Gloria)of Louisa Va. A Sister in-law Artie Jackson from Louisa Va. Four Brother- in-laws, Bernard Johnson of Richmond Va, Nathaniel Waller jr and Earl Waller of Spotsylvania Va, Robert Waller of Louisa Va. Michael Brooks ” lil mike was like a son” as dad would say. And a Devoted Friend Robert (Bob) Taylor ,and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
