Lawrence Keith Hunt, affectionately known as Lonnie, peacefully transitioned on Saturday, January 21, 2023. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on July 23, 1960, to Cleveland Hunt Sr. and Beatrice (Dallas) Hunt. He began his education at Bernette Street School (NJ) and graduated from Hermitage High School (VA). In his early years, he enjoyed shoe-shining, fishing, and roller-skating with his siblings. As a young man, he relished his love for and skill of his favorite sport, basketball. Lonnie began his faith journey at Mount Vernon Baptist Church and received salvation along the way.

In the early 80s, Lonnie relocated from Virginia and made New York his home for over 30 years. In the footsteps of his father, Lonnie went on to pursue a career in trucking as an Owner Operator and medical transportation services. For his enjoyment, he traveled, watched golf, cheered on the NY Knicks, and cooked out with family and friends. Lonnie was a loving father, a loyal son, a caring brother, and a joy to all he encountered. His laugh was infectious and his sense of humor was next to none. His family was his pride and joy. He made sure to make lasting memories for them to cherish for a lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Hunt Sr., and sister, Carolyn Hunt Carter. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Hunt; children, Chartell Cosby-Wilkerson (Tony) and Keosha Patterson-Thomas (James); siblings, Edith White, Beverly Coleman, Diane Jackson (David), Cleveland Jr. (Sandra), Brian, David, Tracey Hemmings (Don), and Shawana Milton (Kyle); four grandchildren, Destinee, NyArah, Jurnee, and Brielle; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends; and a devoted companion, Gloria Foxx.
