Kenneth Purcell Jackson entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2021 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. Kenneth was born in Louisa County, Virginia to Vera Lorine Jackson and Freddie Martin. He is preceded by his parents, brother Orlando M. Jackson, sister Jacqueline R. Johnson and Gayle Martin, and nephew Brandon Henderson.
Kenneth arrived at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at a young age, later serving on the Usher Board and the Robinson Memorial Chorus. His faith took him to Fifth Baptist Church by marriage to Sheila E. Jackson and ultimately to Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church. Kenneth was a graduate of Louisa County Public Schools. Kenneth’s favorite job after school was as a Legal Clerk. He later completed a brief term in the U.S Army. Kenneth’s passion for helping others led him to become PTA President at Maymont Elementary. Kenneth also served as a member of the Pride of Hanover Lodge #264, Free & Accepted Masonry.
Kenneth was a man of life, love, laughter, and show-stopping dance moves. He was a loving husband to Sheila E. Jackson for 23 years and beloved father to Ellis Jackson and DeVon L. Jackson. His is grandfather to Ellis Jr.,Zhane Jones (Todd), Nyema Smithers (Terry), and great-grandfather Kamiah, Kayden, Christian,Titus, Raya, Adalyn, Ellie, Bella, Jaspen,& Emanuel. With us are his devoted brothers and sisters Vernon (Patrice), Lawrence (Loretta), Walter (Rita), Ronald Jackson, Aubrey (Tina), Vera Winston, Brenda (Lloyd) Mallory, Vivian (Rick) James, Alfreda (Daryl) Henderson, Belinda Whittle (Karen), Beverly Cooper and brother-in-law Antonio Johnson. Kenneth leaves behind his countless nieces and nephews as well as his devoted cousins Muriel Gumbs, Lewis and Patsy Morris. He cherished friendships with John Cole, Conrad, Carolyn, Stanley.
