On Saturday, February 20, 2021, at his home, our beloved Kenneth Allen Buchanan departed this life. Kenneth was born on September 25, 1943, in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Buchanan, and his mother Queenie Buchanan.

Kenneth resided in North Arlington, VA, and was known to family and friends as Ken.

After much hard work and dedication, he graduated from Wakefield High School on June 14, 1963. Kenneth followed in the footsteps of his father to become a Master Mason. Kenneth worked for 25 years for the House of Representatives in the US Office of Personnel Management until he retired on February 26, 1999.

Kenneth was the #1 Washington Redskins and NASCAR fan. His hobbies were collecting coins, Redskin apparel and memorabilia, NASCAR, Minions, and playing the PlayStation.

He married the late Norma Buchanan and from their union had one daughter, Tobie. He was a devoted husband and father. Many years later, he remarried Debra Buchanan. He established and maintained a solid foundation of faithfulness to his first and second wife, family, and most of all his faith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Debra Buchanan, one daughter, Tobie, two stepdaughters, Darlene and Tidisha (Tye), two stepsons, Terrill (Tamika) and Donnell (Raynise), two grandsons, Zachary Thayer and Xavier Dean, one granddaughter Alexandra Thayer, three great-grandchildren, three nephews, John (Tommy), Patrick and David (Jennifer), one niece, Dolores, his best friend David McCauley (the late Helen McCauley), and a host of family and friends.
