On August 28, Karl Alexander Harris passed away at Mary Washington Hospital at the age of 76. Karl was the youngest child of John and Mable E. Harris. He attended school in Fredericksburg and served in the Vietnam War. Before retiring Karl worked for Professional Building Maintenance. He loved to listen to music, cook, watch sports, and talk about his top players. He also loved shopping for his favorite snacks.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Harris and Mable E. Harris, and brothers Otto W. Harris, John B. Harris II, and Robert E. Harris; and his sisters Etta Williams, Velma G. Woodfork, and Margret L. White. Karl is survived by his wife, Julia M. Harris and his two daughters Alberta Bell (Terry) and Vivian Delts. Karl had a close friendship with his son-in-law, Terry Bell.

He is also survived by 6 grandchildren with which he but built a closer bond with Kimberly Mills and Kenderick Mills. Karl is also survived by 9 nieces and 6 nephews. He had incredibly special relationships with his niece Brigitte H. Howard and his nephews Dennis M. Harris and Gilbert D. Harris. To cherish his memories also are Karl great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends
